winter WEDDING ideas - elope With LOVED ones in the lake district
Charlotte and Jimi's Loved ONES' ELopement Wedding
Elopement weddings remain a popular choice, but many couples prefer not to elope alone. There are some precious loved ones who you can’t imagine being without on your special day! So we created a new ‘elopement style’ wedding called ‘The Loved Ones.’ With this mini-micro, you can invite up to six additional guests and have your nearest and dearest with you every step of the way.
This is Charlotte and Jimi’s story to inspire those of you looking for intimate winter wedding ideas…

The perfect winter wedding idea for eloping couples
When we first chatted to Charlotte and Jimi, they knew they wanted a winter wedding, but were still considering which wedding style would suit them best. After much thought, they came back to us almost a year later and chose our Loved Ones package. It was the perfect fit for their vision of an intimate wedding experience shared with just their closest family.
Wedding day moments shared with loved ones
Charlotte chose beautiful wintery tones for her wedding flowers. Frosted blues and winter whites were combined with silvery green eucalyptus for a fragrant bouquet. Jimi’s buttonhole of a winter white rose and deep blue thistle complemented his rustic tweed suit and floral tie beautifully.

Intimate winter elopement Ceremony
Charlotte and Jimi’s ceremony was a beautifully personal wedding service. The Registrars always make couples and their guests feel welcome and at ease. Softly lit with scented candles and elegant decor, our Wordsworth Ceremony Room has the perfect atmosphere for an intimate winter elopement on a frosty winter’s day. After the ceremony, Charlotte and Jimi enjoyed precious family time together as a newly married couple. The open fire in our Woodrow reception room sets the scene for a cosy place to relax after some enthusiastic confetti throwing. We absolutely love a confetti photo – it’s a great idea to involve little ones as ‘helpers’ too.

The perfect winter wedding scene on rydal water
Charlotte wore an elegant faux fur wrap, perfect for a winter wedding photo shoot. Their little Paige boy kept snug and warm in his tweed waistcoat and cap. A country-style tweed suit is a fitting winter wedding choice for grooms, too. Despite the crisp air, Cote How is incredibly romantic in the winter season, with a magical sprinkling of frost and golden afternoon light.

Shared moments together
The happy couple enjoyed some time out in our meadow overlooking Cote How. This is such a special part of your wedding day. Shared moments together in a breathtaking landscape create memories that will last a lifetime.

Precious moments Frozen in time under a wintry sky
Our recommended photographers are all amazing. They know the landscape around Cote How so well and are full of ideas when it comes to the perfect winter wedding portraits. Charlotte and Jimi’s photoshoot shows how natural and relaxed they felt with their photographer, Jenna. She captured the peace and tranquility of their winter wedding escape beautifully.

a new chapter for the Whole family
Charlotte and Jimi’s little boy had a wonderful afternoon making memories with his grandparents.
