Winter Elopement
Our winter elopement for two is wildly romantic. If you love the great outdoors, what better way to spend your wedding day than with an exhilarating adventure? Experience the tranquility of our winter woodlands, or explore the dramatic vista from Rydal Caves with your photographer after your ceremony. Rock the hiking boots with a wedding dress look, pop on a rucksack, and head for the hills, hand in hand. Incredible winter wedding portraits amongst iconic scenery will capture the two of you doing what you love most, on the best day of your life. Love really does sparkle brighter in the frost!

start your new chapter as a family
With our Little Ones winter elopement wedding package, you can walk into your next chapter together as a family. Enjoy fireside games in the house and explore nature’s playground on our doorstep, whatever the weather. We understand that life with a young family is hectic. This special package is designed to help you press pause on busy lives and spend quality time together after juggling the summer holidays. Take advantage of a short break during low season in the Lakes for great value, greater availability, and great wedding day memories to cherish for years to come.

Winter Micro Magic With Loved Ones
Love really is all about family. A marriage between two people brings two families together, and our winter Loved Ones micro surrounds you with those who love you most. After an intimate wedding ceremony, we invite you all to pull up a chair, put another log on the fire, and feel at home in the heart of the Lakes. Winter weddings bring together everything you love about the season. It may be cold outside, but the warmth of family and friends gathered close will keep you toasty.

Summer Isn't In The Only Season For love
Let’s face it, some of us absolutely love the ‘ber months’. You can lean into the relaxed, cosy vibe as winter brings a shift in mood that’s both comforting and exciting. Shorter, darker days are all the excuse we need for going all out with candlelight and fairy lights – perfect for romantic, intimate gatherings. Our winter micro package (up to 12 people) can include a slice of delicious wedding cake and a glass of fizz, or a relaxed grazing table. These winter weddings are all about ‘atmosphere’. Vows by candlelight, a log fire in the hearth, and delicious sharing platters laid out on our antique dresser – it’s ‘hygge’ meets timeless Lakeland charm. Friends and family love the chance to dress up and wind down at your very own winter wedding retreat. The two of you can steal away to the lakeshore for a private photo shoot as cocktail hour gets underway, and we treat your guests to the very best of Cumbria hospitality in our home-from-home.

it's the most wonderful time of year - to say 'I do'
Christmas time and weddings go together like mulled wine and mince pies. Our festive wedding style is all about marrying the spirit of Christmas with a magical wedding day. It’s about stepping out of ordinary life into something very special. We sprinkle your wedding day with all the spirit of the season, and the Lake District winter brings the awe and wonder. There’s no better time of year to create memories with those we love, and what better present is there than a romantic Lakes escape in December? A festive wedding is the ultimate celebration of love, family, and belonging and Cote How positively glows at Christmas time.

Winter Day Weddings
From October to April, our winter day weddings at Cote How are created for couples who long for something intimate, atmospheric and beautifully personal. Designed for up to 12 guests and held entirely within the house, these celebrations are wrapped in candlelight, warmth and the quiet magic of the Lake District in its most dramatic season. After a beautiful candlelit ceremony in our Fairfield room, you and your guests gather for welcome winter cocktails and seasonal canapés, before sitting down together for a chef-prepared wedding breakfast of two or three courses. With exclusive use of our home, every moment feels relaxed and unhurried — from the first toast to the final coffee — allowing you to celebrate with the people who matter most in a setting that feels private, meaningful and wonderfully cosy.

the ultimate winter wedding overnight escape
Our Indulgers elopement lets you slip quietly into winter, away from the fuss, and marry in peace and the utmost comfort. Sometimes all it takes is candlelight, the two of you, and a space that feels like home. Our beautifully peaceful Lakeland house is exclusively yours. It’s a place where your wedding day feels personal, meaningful, and heartfelt, and for a whole twenty-four hours, it’s all about the two of you. Some moments are too precious to share with the rest of the world.
