Guest ListA Versatile Venue that fits your Wedding Size

Cote How is pretty unique. We have the perfect wedding venue with private manicured gardens, croquet lawn, terraces and rough paddock, surrounded by stunning mountain views. The traditional Lakeland house sits high on the hill overlooking the Rydal Valley with not a neighbour in sight... just a steady stream of envious onlookers! The manicured gardens of the house and terraces open out towards Rydal Water where in the lower garden our wedding barn is happily nestled with its own garden gazebo and photo booth. The barn features a wide panoramic drinks terrace overlooking our own wild flower meadow where you can wander alongside the pretty banks of the River Rothay to the edges of Rydal Water with its legendary rocky outcrop with a most wonderful and majestic oak tree in which to perch.
This is a truly magical setting where many photographers and painters choose to spend their time capturing it's stunning beauty. Our own boathouse on Rydal Water with the house sitting proudly on the hill features in many paintings and photographs of the area. In fact our own boathouse featured in the closing credits of The French lieutenant's Woman featuring Meryl Streep!

Fully Exclusive Use

Cote How prides itself on one to one attention. Caroline and her team will guide you seamlessly through the planning stages right through your wedding day until the minute you leave. This is the case with all of our weddings, and we therefore do not have any other weddings or visitors onsite for the total duration of your wedding. You have our full and undivided attention. This means that you can relax in the private confines of our little romantic hideaway knowing that you have exclusive use no matter how tiny your wedding!

Add an element of surprise...

All of these stunning features offer a different feel and charm to your day. Whether you opt for a barn wedding, a lown wedding or a house wedding, we always make use of the house and terracing and the croquet lawn your reception drinks and canapes, photographs and games. In the house wedding ceremonies allow the barn to kept under wraps until time for the speeches and wedding breakfast offering a contrasting style and an element of surprise for your guests as they wander down to the barn for dinner!

Bespoke Weddings

As part of our bespoke wedding offer, we believe it is vitally important to create the perfect setting for your wedding regardless of size. So whether you are planning an elopement wedding for 2, or a full hog roast wedding for 54 we will take the time and make the extra effort to ensure that the ceremony and the wedding breakfast layouts are transformed to fit exactly with your guest numbers.
Creating a warm, welcoming and comfortable environment is crucial in creating our relaxed and friendly ambience, so we will remove unwanted chairs and re-arrange the layouts to make your wedding a perfect fit. Afterall nobody wants to see row upon row of empty seats at their wedding!
