How to choose the perfect winter wedding venue
Choosing a Winter WeddIng Venue
If you have your heart set on a cosy, winter wedding, finding the perfect location can seem daunting. As a signed-up member of the winter wedding fan club, here are my ‘top tips’ for embracing your winter wedding dreams and choosing the perfect winter wedding venue.

Whether the weather be good, or whether the weather be bad…
Couples often give up their winter wedding dream due to the weather. But the joy of a winter wedding is that it takes away all the angst about sudden downpours. Marrying outside can be delightful, but rain really can stop play! The perfect winter venue keeps you and your guests warm and snug without having to venture outside. Choose a venue where couples can prepare for their ceremony in luxurious suites, whilst guests enjoy the ambiance of a historic home. Baby, it’s cold outside as the song goes, but as you sink into a velvet armchair with a cocktail, who cares?

A picture paints a thousand words…
Winter weddings create a perfect wedding photo opportunity. It’s easy to imagine your ceremony anywhere in the sunshine, but winter venues have a magical atmosphere. Look for dramatic scenery, log fires to warm your toes, and twinkling fairy lights when choosing your location. Never underestimate the romance of flickering firelight in the hearth……and of course, candlelight creates the most flattering glow! Our recommended photographers understand the beauty of stormy skies and wild open spaces. Embrace wedding photographs that reflect the wonder of our lakes and mountains in the colder months.

Tis the season to be jolly….and get married!
Couples seeking the perfect winter wedding venue often LOVE the festive season. The scents of pine, sweet orange, and cinnamon evoke a sense of comfort and festive weddings have love and family celebrations in their heart. Winter venues create the perfect balance; a subtle nod to the festivities, without losing sight of your wedding day. Décor should be restrained, elegant, and personal to you, and without over-tones of an office Christmas party!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland….
Your wedding day is one of the most important of your life, but the days before and after are special too. Whether eloping or hosting an intimate family gathering, choosing a winter wedding venue in an area of outstanding beauty like the Lake District offers something for everyone. Snowy mountains, Christmas markets, real ale by a roaring fire, or a hot tub under the stars, the Lake District is a magical place for a winter wonderland mini-moon or family celebration.

The perfect winter wedding package…
Planning a wedding at any time of year can be overwhelming, but a winter wedding is something to look forward to as summer fades and nights draw in. When choosing a winter wedding venue, you should feel confident that the team bringing your vision to life is right for you. Reviews, website content, and social media posts should reflect a warm, experienced, and personal approach so that you know your wedding is in safe hands. There were angels in the Christmas story, so does your venue have a ‘wedding planning angel’ to guide you on your journey to happily ever after?

Thanks
