We first met Tiree in 2015 and were so impressed by her gentle nature and swift, silent captures. Based in Windermere she has a love of natural wedding photography, capturing both candid detail shots and beautiful aspects of nature – especially dramatic skies!
She has an artistic eye for wonderfully quirky images, in addition to amazing reportage and traditional photography.

We have a lot of amazing venues in the Lake District, and a lot of incredibly enthusiastic venue owners and managers… and Caroline and Steve at Cote how are most definitely up there with the best of the best! The Cote How team not only always look after their couples and make sure they have everything they need, they also run their business with great passion.

Cote How is their family home and they share it as an idyllic Lakeland wedding and elopement venue. A short amble down the field and you’re on the shores of Rydal Water. A wander through the trees (packed with bluebells in the spring) and up the fell and you have the grandeur of Rydal Caves and open views to the fells up to the north- as well as back down to Rydal.

We first met Jo in 2020 when she was introduced to us on a photo shoot.
Jo lives in Ulverston and loves all styles of weddings from tiny to full days. She has a pilot’s license for drone footage and incorporates film and stills into her work.
She also loves a hike, so adventurous couples will want to, book time to explore our landscape further.

My love for Cote How begins with home.

Surrounded by magnificent views, breathtaking walks, Rydal Water and ever-changing seasons, Cote How reflects my deep connection to the Lake District and the outdoors. Its landscapes, weather and light make it a natural playground for creativity.

Based in Ulverston, just a short distance from Ambleside, my family farm sits on Cartmel Fell overlooking one of the finest views in the South Lakes. Being close to Cote How — one of the Lake District’s most sought-after micro-wedding and elopement venues — feels like a privilege.

It’s the unspoilt scenery, wildlife and dramatic skies that keep me rooted here. Early mornings are especially magical, with quiet woodland moments, fresh air and shifting light across the peaks. Cote How, Ambleside and Rydal Water always feel like home, offering endless seasonal variety and the perfect setting for relaxed, authentic wedding photography.

I’m all about capturing the little details—those genuine connections, raw emotions, and all the moments in between. Whether it’s a sweet glance during the ceremony or a hike up a mountain holding hands and taking in the views, I’m there to tell your story in a way that’s true to you.

My style blends artistic portraits with documentary-style candids, all with a cinematic twist (inspired by my work in the music industry photographing the likes of The Script, Nicole Scherzinger, Ed Sheeran).

I’ve been photographing since around the age of 6. Living in Rydal at the wonderful Cote How means that my attention is drawn to the scenery, its wildlife and, of course, the weddings we host here.

As a venue owner and resident photographer, I specialise in elopement weddings exclusively held at Cote How. Not only do I host your wedding along with Caroline and the team, but I also capture images of your special day to give you many happy memories for years to come. I’m Kathryn, a down-to-earth, natural Wedding Photographer!

I’m from a little village near Accrington, Lancashire where I live with my family.

I’ve been photographing weddings since 2010. After a summer in Peru, I realised I loved telling stories; capturing human connection and emotions. Weddings are full of so many moments, and the best photos are usually the ones you don’t plan or expect. My aim is to let your wedding unfold and blend in like an old friend, never stealing you away from your guests for too long but still capturing the people most important to you! I often work with self professed “awkward” people, so if the idea of being photographed makes you quiver, that’s ok!

My photography style focuses on who you are, the people you love, and moments that must be cherished.

I started my photography business in 2011. I am based in Cheshire but take my photography all over the UK. I have a diploma in photography, but my experience over the years has given me a firm foundation in journalistic-style wedding photography. My favourite place on earth is the Lake District. My father moved there when I was six, so it’s my childhood home.

Cote How is one of my favourite wedding venues. Caroline is amazing, and her attention to detail is second to none.

Capturing natural moments is important to me. A candid photograph captures a person in their truest form. Genuine emotion and personality are saved forever. These images are my true passion. Although formal photos are important too, the photographs we love the most are those we didn’t even know were being taken. Looking through my portfolio, you will see this is my approach. I like to blend into the background.

To love your job is a real privilege, something I am thankful for every day.

Rachel Joyce

It’s always a bit odd writing about yourself but I’m probably the one non-guest at your wedding that you’ll spend the most time with. So it’s worth making sure I’m not a weirdo. Or at least – I’m the right kind of weirdo for you! So let me tell you a little bit more about me. I’m based on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, with my husband, our offspring, and our menagerie of animals. We love adventuring, seaside holidays, and getting muddy feet.

I never planned on being a wedding photographer (I’m not sure anyone does!) I only picked up a ‘proper’ camera back in 2011 when I was pregnant with my daughter and my hubby was spendy on electronics. And BOOM. I was hooked. 300 or so weddings later and I still pinch myself that this is my real-life job!

One of the best things about my job is the incredible places I visit and Cote How is one of my absolute favourites. I’ve photographed lots of lovely weddings here; some teeny-tiny, and some not so much.

We first met Simon in 2017 and he has photographed many weddings here since then. Based in the North Lakes, Simon is a proper gent and a joy to work with. He will put you at ease and help you relax during your photos.

Choosing the right photographer is one of the most important decisions you’ll make for your wedding day. CHRIS FREER

My name is Chris Freer and I live with my family in Cockermouth, on the edge of the beautiful Lake District.

I have always been interested in photography, having bought my first SLR camera at the age of 13, which I still own!

I’ve trained with some world-class photographers, including Jeff Ascough, a Canon ambassador who was voted one of the top 10 wedding photographers in the world.

I enjoy competing in marathons and triathlons, and I was incredibly proud to be a member of the GB Age Group Triathlon Squad at the European Championships 2018. Apart from being a wonderful way to keep fit and focused, it certainly helps with the concentration levels and stamina required for photographing weddings!
