OUTDOOR WEDDING
BENEATH THE GLOW OF THE AUTUMN SUN
here comes the sun...
Let me take you back to a glorious outdoor wedding, one sunny September at Cote How. Faye and Joe enjoyed a magical, family-oriented small wedding of just ten people. Due to ongoing restrictions at the time, some guests were not able to attend. Despite this, in a world where we are more connected than ever, those guests were still able to witness through the power of technology. Faye and Joe’s wedding was a beautiful, bright, and heartwarming day – love really CAN conquer all!

Arrival drinks - alfresco style!
On the morning of their special day, the sun was shining, and birdsong filled the air. It was the perfect setting for an outdoor wedding. Nojitos was the arrival drink of choice – a take on the classic mojito. They looked super stylish and were zingy and refreshing on such a lovely day. Everyone enjoyed mingling on the terrace as they tucked into their canapes.

A splash of autumnal colour
The ceremony took place outside the barn, an idyllic setting for an al fresco wedding. Faye wore a beautiful, paisley silk shawl, whilst Joe wore a burgundy suit with an orange tie. Their outfits were gorgeous, a welcome splash of autumn colour in the sunshine. The colours complemented the natural setting perfectly and were reflected in the bride’s beautiful bouquet of burnt orange and ochre.

Bringing everyone together
The bride’s father went down the aisle with Faye, and a tripod was set up to have front-row seats for those who could not attend. It meant a lot to the couple to connect with loved ones during their ceremony – albeit from a distance.

An Idyllic setting
There’s something so simple yet chic about an outdoor wedding with a barn ceremony. The couple continued the theme with a stroll through Rydal Woods. The shores of Rydal Water are a picture-perfect backdrop for wedding photos. Nab Scar’s slopes glowed green and bronze in the distance.

and relax...
A two-course meal followed in the barn, with the tables arranged so that all guests faced each other for an intimate gathering. Conversation flowed, and the atmosphere was beautifully relaxed. Their wedding cake was wonderfully crafted by The Little Kendal Cakery and paired perfectly with the barn’s rustic aesthetics. The barn was styled with handmade typography, natural wood detailing, and ivy garlands for a homemade, country wedding theme.

the best man was with them in spirit
Due to the current restrictions, unfortunately, the best man was one of the guests who was unable to attend. He came up with an ingenious solution and recorded his speech so everyone could hear it played at the wedding! It was a first for Cote How, and a touching moment as guests huddled around the iPad to watch. There were lots of smiles and laughter, and it was a highlight of a wonderful afternoon.
