A Stunning Small Barn Wedding
Another fabulous day featuring our small barn weddings!
Lauren and Richard had planned their small barn wedding for years, and it was finally here!
The couple got in touch 18 months ago, after finding us on a family walk around Rydal. Lauren decided that Cote How was the perfect location for a small barn wedding with close family and friends.
Richard and Lauren chose a weekend wedding, and the fun began on Friday as soon as they arrived. Close friends and family came to help with the final touches, so the house was buzzing with excitement. It was a fantastic day in the Lake District, and spring was definitely in the air!
A Welcoming Smile
The sun shone brightly as guests arrived. We greeted them with a welcoming smile and a glass of Pimms on the terrace.
Lauren used the Getting Ready Room upstairs to prepare with close friends. It was a great vantage point to peek at all the guests arriving below!
The registrars interviewed Lauren upstairs in privacy and comfort whilst guests mingled in the sunshine.
The Perfect Small Barn Wedding
Lauren and Richard opted for their ceremony in our gorgeous Fairfield room. They wanted to keep the barn a secret until later in the day. Our wedding barn is perfect for a small barn wedding reception and we couldn’t wait to reveal the surprise!
After their ceremony, the happy couple led their guests out onto the terrace. Everyone enjoyed Prosecco and canapes in front of the house.
After refreshments and family portraits, the couple set off for photos down by the lake.
Love By the lake shore
Just beyond the gardens at Cote How our flower meadow runs down to the shores of Rydal Water. Photographs by the lake are a must for all our couples. The breathtaking scenery creates unique portraits that you will treasure forever.
A lakeside photo shoot is the perfect opportunity to share quality time together as a couple. These private moments let you take in the wonder of your wedding day as you relax together and just enjoy the moment.
It was soon time to reveal our wonderful wedding barn in all its glory. The table was set for dinner and beautifully decorated with flowers and candles.
Our authentic Lakeland barn is perfect for a small barn wedding. Guests can chat together easily yet there is plenty of space for everyone!
We always begin with speeches, so those involved can then relax and enjoy their dinner.. There may be a tear or two!
After the wedding breakfast is the perfect opportunity for an al-fresco first dance on the barn terrace.

As the sunset over the happy couple's barn wedding...
Everyone was happy and relaxed so it was time to get the party started! We play each couple’s favourite music via our Sonos sound system. The bridesmaids had a great time dancing the night away!
As the sun went down, Lauren and Richard enjoyed a twilight stroll and created beautiful memories with Kathryn of Delicious Photography. The photographs were amazing and captured the perfect end to a perfect day.

“We had a weekend wedding at Cote How in May, after spotting the venue in full swing in August 2020, at the end of our family walk on Loughrigg Fell. The greenery and flowers, strings of lights, and quiet music set in the quaint venue grounds deep within the valley were the most beautiful sights.
