Creating a wedding day that is RELAXED AND STRESS FREE
When thinking about booking that perfect wedding venue, what thoughts spring to mind? Special, relaxed, stress-free? With so much emphasis on being good to yourself, we believe that your wedding planning journey should be relaxed and stress-free. In this blog I will share with you my top ten tips on how to create the perfect relaxed and stress-free wedding…
1. check out your venues, staff and reviews
Finding that perfect stress-free venue can be daunting, especially when looking for exclusivity. You’ll think you’ve found the perfect place, only to find that you may well be sharing with other guests or even wedding parties. Research your venue as much as possible to get a feel for it. Scour their social media accounts and read testimonials and reviews. Consider the logistics… if you book your meal and reception in one location, but somewhere else for the ceremony, how are you going to transport your guests? We believe that booking your ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception all at the same venue alleviates a lot of unnecessary extra planning and stress! Your guests will feel settled and relaxed and once you’ve arrived, you can also kick back and enjoy your day knowing that you will not have the disruption of having to round up your guests and move to a new location, which can be unsettling and spoil the flow of the day.
2. CHOOSING A VENUE WITH ACCOMMODATION OR WITHOUT?
Booking a venue with rooms can seem appealing, however you ultimately pay a premium to have all your guests under one roof. Searching for a venue that offers exclusivity would be the best way to ensure that your wedding is as intimate as possible and finding somewhere without accommodation is a great way to save on costs. Most accommodation free venues will also be more than happy to recommend somewhere for you and your guests to stay close by, the information of which you can just pass on to your guests for them to book themselves. It also alleviates the stress of you having to arrange all of the accommodation making the process relaxed and stress-free
3. HIDDEN COSTS
Something else to be wary of is ‘hidden costs’. Although the initial quote may seem appealing, more often than not venues won’t include a number of key items, such as decor, flowers or even furniture, creating a multitude of hidden extras that you have to ‘add on’ later. Finding a venue that is wedding ready and offers fully inclusive packages could save a lot of stress and worry further down the line.
4. INTIMATE & SMALL OR BIG & BOLD?
Another thing to consider is the size of your wedding. In general the bigger the wedding the more planning, organisation and stress will be involved. You may also feel unnecessary pressure to invite people that you may not want there. When thinking about the size of your wedding, don’t be afraid to go with your heart and make decisions that feel right for you.
5. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Choose a location that means something to you. It could be a regular place you visit during holidays or perhaps the place you got engaged or first met. Finding a location that holds special memories, will most definitely make the whole experience feel extra special, relaxed and stress-free. If you love adventures and the great outdoors, find a venue that fits with you. Here at Cote How, we have organised some amazing adventure elopements!

7. THE IMPORTANCE OF PUTTING YOUR WELL-BEING FIRST
Planning a wedding can be stressful, which is why it is so important to not put pressure on yourself to make everything perfect. We always encourage our couples to keep the planning process private. Although its lovely to involve others in the decision making, the likely hood is they will have a completely different vision or idea, so keeping your plans secret will make the whole process relaxed and stress-free. It also makes for a wonderful surprise on the day for your guests!
8. WEDDING PLANNING JOURNEY
Your wedding planning journey should be as relaxed and as stress-free as the day itself. Finding that perfect intimate wedding venue with a dedicated team to help support you along the way, will definitely make the whole process a lot easier. Here at Cote How, we include your very own dedicated wedding planner who will be there to help and support you every step of the way.
9. DON’T WORRY ABOUT THE SMALL DETAILS
It’s easy to get bobbed down with the tiny details… do we need a welcome board? Should we have a first dance? Will mum be unhappy if I don’t get uncle Bob a buttonhole? The truth is, your wedding day is about the two of you… don’t follow traditions to please others – go with your heart and plan a day that is right for you.
10. RELAX AND ENJOY!
You’ve probaly spent months, possibly years planning your special day and now its time to relax and enjoy! Go with the flow and soak in every precious moment.
