Small Lake District Winter Weddings

Small Lake District Winter Weddings
We feel so very privileged at Cote How to witness many small and intimate weddings. It seems that the trend for smaller weddings will continue into 2024 as the economic climate shows no signs of easing anytime soon.
As our wedding calendar does tend to fill up quickly over the summer months, many couples are opting for a small, hygge winter wedding.
Pronounced “hooga”, hygge is about “taking time away from the daily rush to be together with people you care about – or even by yourself – to relax and enjoy life’s quieter pleasures.”
We’ve had many reviews from lovely couples describing their Cote How Winter Weddings as ‘Hygge Weddings’. Thye ooze warmth, charm, and the relaxed nurturing vibe.
This is what Leander and Daniel had to say about their Winter Hygge Wedding:
“Whilst Cote How accommodates many types of weddings and all year round, we wanted something in winter as we enjoy the colder months and wanted the Hygge feeling with a roaring fire and fun festivities… and to say they delivered, is an understatement. It honestly was a case of showing up on the day and everything was done for us to an immaculate and beautiful standard.”

Wedding Postponements
The many couples that had their weddings booked in 2020 have been faced with sometimes not one, but two postponements already. Many couples that have weddings booked for 2021 are now having to rethink their plans entirely. Perhaps a complete U-turn in their wedding planning and desperate to marry, are reviewing the size, style and location of their wedding.

Increased Lake District Visitors
Not surprisingly, with travel restrictions limiting trips abroad, the Lake District has seen a massive influx of visitors looking for adventure and excitement, including many new to the Lake District and now falling in love with this beautiful place. As a result, local accommodation providers have seen a marked increase in summer bookings, and look set for a busy autumn and into 2021, restrictions permitting of course. Fantastic news for hoteliers and self-catering owners, however, if you were considering visiting the Lake District this winter, maybe it’s time to get that accommodation booked!

Destination UK Weddings
Many couples who had planned a wedding abroad may still have itchy feet and are now looking for an equally stunning UK destination wedding. Favourite romantic hotspots are seeing a surge in domestic visitors and these, for many couples, offer the perfect opportunity to combine their wedding and honeymoon into a single fantastic location. We have seen this directly via a large number of elopement and small small Lake District winter weddings enquiries already this autumn.

The impact of Coronavirus on Consumer Confidence
Coronavirus remains a significant concern. With no end in sight and a lack of a roadmap out of the current wedding restrictions, I think we are all starting to come to terms with life being a little different for some time to come.
With this in mind, we have adapted our winter wedding packages to be more flexible to both current and future restrictions. These will fit a range of budgets, and all provide the best winter wedding experience the Lake District has to offer.

We are also aware that there may be many couples who are feeling very Covid-Concerned. Not only about the disruption, Covid could have on their wedding plans, but perhaps are anxious about the health risks to themselves and their loved ones.
To alleviate these concerns, we have put together a winter wedding package that provides an all-inclusive, Covid Secure, magical wedding experience. All this contained in the cosy and safe bubble provided by Cote How.
