Why are we using only recommended photographers?
Primarily these hand-picked photographers are known to us and the venue. We know the quality of their work, personalities, and professionalism. Most importantly, they understand the venue, location, and crucial timings for your wedding.
As elopement weddings are short, finding a photographer to work with and understand you is essential. The day is not about the photographer. They should manage to capture those special moments seamlessly and without fuss. Your photographer should make sure your wedding flows, and work with us so that the day is relaxed.

How much time will you need?
Each Elopement Wedding requires different amounts of photography time. Our recommended photographers understand the different packages and the timings involved.
They can quote for your chosen elope, but as a guide, we have included an hourly “£ from rate” to help you understand the costs involved.
INDULGERS
Overnight Luxury Elope
Minimum 2 Hours of photography required
For this indulgent celebration, you have the Rydal Suite of rooms and may wish to include preparation time before the wedding. There is then your ceremony, followed by 2 more hours of fun and exploration further afield to the lake shore of Rydal Water or beyond to Rydal Caves.
ADVENTURERS
3 Hour Afternoon Elope
Minimum 3 Hours of photography required
Our 3-hour Lake District ADVENTURERS Elopement starts with photography similar to the RUNAWAYS. Add on an extra hour to allow time to continue through the woodlands to Rydal Caves, a 15-minute walk, for dramatic views of open fell-top scenery.

2 Hour Morning Elope
Minimum 2 Hours of photography required
For our morning RUNAWAYS elopement your photographer arrives at the same time to capture pre-wedding details. Then follows an intimate wedding ceremony, and celebration, in and around Cote How. Take a gentle stroll to the lake shores of Rydal water for a romantic and scenic photo shoot.

So, you’ve made the brave decision to do what’s best for you. Well done, as it’s not always an easy option to choose! Whilst big weddings bring excitement, endless entertainment, and energy, tiny weddings are intimate, relaxed, and focused on the couple. Photographing an elopement requires a calm, sensitive, unobtrusive approach. Those who choose to say “I do” out of the limelight can be introverted and even genuinely terrified of having their photograph taken. I can advise you on what length of coverage you may need based on your venue and individual requirements. I promise you that being in front of my camera will be fine, and even enjoyable!

Hey! I’m Jo, an adventurous, outdoor-loving wedding photographer from Ulverston. I adore my business and love, love, love weddings of all shapes and sizes. Adventure elopements will always have a special place in my heart. I love the wild landscapes and weirdly, I love the unpredictable weather.

Pricing for Cote How elopements starts from approx £175* per hour for photo only, and £250* per hour for photo and film combined.
Extra charges may occur if I’m required to travel to any particular location outside of Rydal.

I’m Clare Gelderd, and I live in the South Lakes, Ulverston, which is only a stone’s throw away from Cote How (if you throw as enthusiastically as me anyway!)
I’m very much a down-to-earth photographer that is always ‘keeping it real’.
Being an adventurous and outdoorsy Northern lass with farming in my blood and a wild, creative flare, Cote How is one of my favourite locations to work.
Whether it is just the two of you or an alternative ceremony, I am dedicated and fearless. I photograph each moment in the purest way, whilst ensuring your photographs are visually artistic and unique.

JULIE ROBINSON
Originally from Northern Ireland, my passions are both people (in a previous life I was an HR Manager) and photography. Combine them both together and that is when the magic happens.
Using gentle direction when needed I create a safe enjoyable space for my very gorgeous couples to have fun, relax, and be their authentic self. This allows true personalities to shine through and great photos are made.
I love shooting at Cote How. It’s one of the most beautiful, quintessential Lake District venues, and I am overjoyed to be on Cote How’s recommended suppliers list. Caroline and Steve show love, care, and real attention to detail when looking after a couple. They think of everything and there is a sense that couples really are in safe hands. It’s always a bit odd writing about yourself but I’m probably the one non-guest at your wedding that you’ll spend the most time with. So it’s worth making sure I’m not a weirdo. Or at least that I’m the right kind of weirdo for you! So let me tell you a little bit more about me. I’m based in the best spot for North West Weddings, right on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, on the borders of North Yorkshire, Lancashire, and the Lake District. I live with my husband, our offspring, and our menagerie of animals. We love adventuring, seaside holidays, and getting muddy feet.
I have a serious book-buying addiction (it’s getting to be an actual problem – we’re running out of shelves). I’m an avid collector of hobbies that I really don’t have time to do. I love house projects (we’ve just taken on a whopper!) and my patient and talented craftsman husband realises all my crazy ideas. I’m a Harry Potter obsessive. I’m devastated that it’s no longer allowed as a topic on Mastermind. There goes my chance of fame.
I love an afternoon nap. I know all the words to Ice Ice Baby and I have an actual zombie apocalypse plan. I adore being outdoors.
I never planned on being a wedding photographer (I’m not sure anyone does!) I only picked up a ‘proper’ camera back in 2011 when I was pregnant with my daughter and my hubby was spendy on electronics. BOOM! I was hooked. 300 or so weddings later and I still pinch myself that this is my real life job. It’s smashing.
One of the best things about my job is the incredible places I get to visit, and Cote How is up there with my absolute favourites. I’ve been lucky enough to be on the recommended supplier list for a number of years and photographed the weddings of lots of lovely couples. Some are teeny tiny and some not so much.

Photographing Lake District elopement or ‘just us’ weddings is incredibly special. They are such a privilege and so much fun. I love them!
I offer a couple of hours of photography to unobtrusively capture your Runaways ceremony, with natural, relaxed portraits afterward, or extended coverage to photograph Adventurers, Romantics, or Indulger’s weddings. I’d love to capture your special day for you to share with family and friends, and relive time and again!
If you have plans after leaving Cote How to explore more of the Lake District, perhaps enjoying a fell walk or taking a cruise on one of the lakes, I can be your guide whilst photographing as much of your day as you’d like!

There’s no doubt about it; Cote How is a stunning venue. The popularity of elopement-style weddings has increased greatly over the past few years and shooting them is something I really enjoy. It isn’t any wonder that being on the recommended list for elopement wedding photography at Cote How makes me very proud. I work well with Caroline, Steve, and their team, and understand how important it is to ensure detail and timing match each wedding perfectly. Lots of hard work goes into making the most of Cote How’s natural and chilled-out vibe! In terms of photography, I like to tailor my style of shoot to individual couples.
