A Bespoke Dog-friendly Wedding Experience in the Lake District

This is our three-hour afternoon elopement package, perfect for couples who want an intimate, stress-free wedding with their dog. Your dog is cared for by a chaperone during your wedding ceremony, and then there’s time to enjoy the meadow and woodland together, capturing ‘pawfect’ wedding portraits with your treasured best friend!

Celebrate your special day with an intimate wedding experience, set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Lake District.
Our “Paws & Promises” package is a luxury adventure escape for two… and your four-legged friend comes too!

Working in close partnership with the Lake District’s number one wedding dog care and chaperone service, ‘Dapper Dog Weddings’ you can relax and enjoy your perfect day, knowing your dog is happy and cared for.

With unique pet-friendly touches, the ‘Paws and Promises’ wedding style ensures an unforgettable celebration in our Lake District Dog-Friendly Wedding Venue!

from May to October (as we use the outdoor spaces only)

*Please note: Dog chaperone services are booked by you directly with Dapper Dog Weddings, subject to their availability. Booking their services is an essential requirement when bringing your dog to Cote How

** All ceremonies including your dog are outside the barn (or just inside the barn doorway) as unfortunately dogs aren’t allowed in the house

*** You can include your dog in ANY of our wedding packages that include additional guests too. If the weather is inclement on the day, and the house is used for your ceremony, the Dapper Dog team will meet you in the meadow for photos with your dog AFTER the ceremony. Just ask for details!

SAMPLE Timeline for Paws and Promises elopement wedding package

14:00 – Arrive for registrar interviews (without your dog)
14:05 – Dog arrives with Dapper Dog Weddings ready for the ceremony
14:30 – Ceremony (15 mins) outside the Lakeland barn
14:45 – Celebration drinks and photos in the grounds
15:15 – Wander down to Rydal Water, Rydal Woods, and possibly Rydal Caves for photos with your dog
16:30 – Arrive back at Cote How for farewell drinks, with your dog still accompanied by Dapper Dogs (or Dapper Dog will take your dog away after the photos and then bring him/her back to you later at an agreed time)
17:00 – Wedding finish time

Note: Timings are adjusted according to your ceremony time, OR if your ceremony is in the house, and your dog is arriving for photos only. If your dog is included in your micro or a day wedding times will vary, according to your wedding style.

Managing your dog's welfare

Having your dog at your wedding is not for everyone or for every kind of dog. Your dog’s needs must be considered first. At Cote How we understand that including your dog on your wedding day is important to you, so we work with Dapper Dogs to incorporate your dog as PART of your wedding day.

As dog lovers, we are committed to ensuring your dog’s welfare is uppermost. Working alongside the Dapper Dog team includes your dog safely and puts their needs first.

For this reason, dogs are only allowed on site if brought by the Dapper Dog team for a specified part of the wedding, and cared for off-site by them until after your wedding.

WEDDING REVIEW for DAPPER DOGS at Cote HOW

After first contacting Dapper Dogs I was reassured that Bow would be able to be with us on our day, and then even more so when we met 5 months prior to the wedding and you first met Bow & took her for a walk. The service on the day was perfect, you made us feel at ease at the time of pick up & Nigel was great with Bow – she’s a lively dog with a very strong will! It was our biggest wish for Bow to be there and we’re so grateful to Nigel for bringing Bow along – it made the day!
