An Amazing Lake District Rustic Barn Wedding

An Amazing Lake District Rustic Barn Wedding

We had an amazing Lake District rustic barn weekend wedding with delightful guests and a host of great professionals helping ensure this wedding went smoothly and beautifully despite some extremely challenging weather!
So despite a planned outdoor wedding ceremony Toby and Nicola switched plans last minute and enjoyed a stylish wedding ceremony indoors. Swapping the rustic charm of the barn and it’s outdoor offerings for the warm, dry and decadant surroundings of the Fairfield Ceremony room with it’s over sized gilt mirrors and gold and crystal chandeliers.
Not too much hardship there you say, but when you have your heart set on one thing and Mother Nature changes her plans unexpectedly, then we have to make quick decisions and switch to plan B…. Good job we always have our ceremony room ready to go as our indoor back up!

Nothing could dampen our spirits for this very intimate and stylish family wedding. Nicola and Toby were a delight to work with and planning was a dream. Nicola looked gorgeous her style elegant, relaxed and easy going, and she was escorted down the aisle by her three stunning bridesmaids and her very proud father Brett.

Their planned outdoor wedding was modified last minute due to a showery day, but the Fairfield Ceremony room in the house was ready and the lighting perfect for a very intimate and romantic ceremony.

We had the pleasure of being entertained by James Ball for the afternoons post ceremony Pimms and Canapes, and as the sun broke though James ventured outdoors to join the guests singing acoustic on the house terrace whilst the guests enjoyed milling and photographers captured.

We all headed to the barn for the speeches and we enjoyed a most delightful and very funny speech form Nicola’s father Brett, followed by Toby and Paul, who of course did the best speech ever!

Following their 3-course dinner, the happy couple wandered down to the lake with their guests to take advantage of some delightful evening sun, while James’ beard band took to the stage. The evening was started with the cutting of the delicious and stunning (as always) red velvet and vanilla naked cake by Shirley at J’Aime cakes. The cheese cake was then cut and sliced for supper along with a whole host of Cumberland delights for the evening supper buffet.

The beard band were fantastic and had the whole wedding buzzing all evening. An eclectic mix of songs all with a “beard band twist” a heady mix of humour and inuendo. A really refreshing experience and one that was enjoyed by the guests and staff alike.
