An All-Inclusive Lake District Wedding

Louise and Simon tied the knot in the Fairfield ceremony room in June 2019 with a select guest list and an all-inclusive mid-week wedding held at Cote How Lake District Weddings in Rydal.

Louise and Simon’s Mid-week All-Inclusive Lake District Wedding

So it was June… and what we now know was the start of a run of wet summer’s days. Not what you expect when you plan your wedding the year before, fairly confident that June is usually a pretty dry month!

What we have learned from this summers weddings is that no matter how fine our planning skills are – We just cannot predict or change the weather – That is in the hands for the God’s!
Beautifully renamed from rain to “Sky Confetti”, we need to embrace and plan and work with our monsoon summers.
That is exactly what Louise and Simon did!

A rainy wedding day
It was very rainy!

They were both so laid back it made the logistical challenges of managing a wet wedding just simply fun. Maybe more couples would benefit from taking on this philosophy.

Lilac wedding flowers

So plan for your wedding to be wet and put in place measures that will ease the strain and add to the fun. Be that colour co-ordinated wellies and brollies, and a fun attitude to accepting the things we cannot influence – Shrug the shoulders and make the most of it.
– See what you think!

Louise’s father escorted her down the aisle before giving her away to a delighted Simon. I have to say that the love in the air was incredible. Simon just couldn’t stop kissing Louise and it was delightful to see.

The ceremony was soon over and this was followed by post ceremony prosecco and canapes on the house terrace (beneath the brollies) and in the house reception room and bar before donning the wellies in various pastel shades and colour co-ordinated brollies for the short stroll down to the lake!

Rain is confetti from heaven!

What fun that was – Roars of laughter could be heard from the garden to the lake as they filed in and out singing at the top of their voices to “we would walk 1000 miles”

The wedding breakfast was held in the rustic 16th Century barn and the room was delightfully decorated with home made decorations. The button bouquets, table centres, named after places in Ambleside, that the couple love to frequent, and even the cake topper was skillfully made by the brides twin sister.

The speeches were a hoot as you can see from Louise’s great facial expressions, and we had a laugh a minute. Dinner was a two-course meal and their beautiful wedding cake was served as the third course with tea and coffee.

The flowers and cake were supplied by Cote How as part of their all-inclusive mid-week wedding.

Chance for a first dance and a little dancing before departing at 9.00 pm to continue their celebrations at t heir lodgings.
