Gary and Pam’s Small Relaxed Family-Style Wedding
By CAROLINE LANGHAM
It was the 18th September and a rather wet drizzly day, as had been the case throughout August and September this year, but this did not dampen any spirits today!
In fact quite the opposite…

Getting Ready
Pam arrived with her beautiful daughters Cheryl and Laura to get changed upstairs in private as the guests started to arrive to drinks and warm welcomes down stairs, hosted by Gary and the family.
The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was planned for the bright and airy Fairfield Ceremony Room with its large double aspect windows and French doors leading onto the garden. Brightened further by the wonderful flowers and candles which adorned the fireplace, ceremony table and window ledges.
Pam was escorted down the aisle by her son David and led into the room by her bridesmaids Cheryl and Laura.
Gary looked fabulous if a little nervous as he waited patiently to see Pam, who made her entrance to Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major. Pam looked stunning in a fitted champagne coloured dress adorned with crystals, diamante and lace with a fabulous back detail and full train. She looked absolutely stunning!
Post Ceremony Drinks and Canapes Reception
The weather lifted and everyone was able to enjoy their post ceremony celebrations outside on the garden terrace with prosecco and canapes.
A little later Simon Hughes (who has kindly provided all of these stunning photographs) then set to work skillfully capturing those candid moments of guests having a great time and so encapsulate the heady fun atmosphere and fun of the day. Then all of the family portraits Gary and Pam had requested amid the beautiful gardens with dramatic views from every direction.

Stunning Location Photography
Once the family shots and portraits had been completed it was time for a visit to the lake edge of Rydal Water for the most important intimate shots featuring just the happy couple set among some of the country’s most stunning and romantic landscape. It is these that will be adorning the walls at home. Such fabulous scenery on the door step make for the most cherished moments caught on camera by Simon. These are some of my favourites!
The Barn Reception
On their return from Rydal Water we were ready in the barn to throw open the barn doors to the delight of the guests. This is always a great surprise moment and it is wonderful to see the delight on the faces of guests and to hear their lovely comments. To make the most of this moment Gary and Pam came to the barn first and welcomed everyone in turn, enabling them to soak up their reactions to their barn reception first hand. A great moment to enjoy!
We often start the reception with the speeches and cake cutting, this helps to relax those taking part ahead of dinner, then everyone can enjoy the rest of the day with no more formalities. (and your photographer can finish earlier)

Dinner Time
Gary and Pam opted for a two-course dinner of ham hock starter and beef bourguignon skillfully prepared by Karen and her team in the kitchen then served to table from the barn gazebo. Pam had organised her own Gluten Free cake which we then served as a third course with tea and coffee.
After a little break we served cheese platters and port, as the music was cranked up a little for a bop in the barn before departing at 9pm.
