Looking for a unique small barn wedding in a stunning location for your celebrations, then here it is! Cote How’s lovely historic 16th Century rustic wedding barn is set in the very heart of the Lake District National Park. Initially a farm barn and stables, this beautiful traditional Lakeland barn now plays host to our wonderful small and intimate rustic barn weddings.

FIRST DANCE with a view
With incredible views from the barn stretching right up the Rydal Valley, towards the shores of our own Rydal Water our small wedding barn is in the most idyllic location surrounded by stunning scenery.
Sunsets over Rydal
The barn and terrace come alive in the evenings as the twinkling fairy lights, and terrace festoons dance at dusk as the sun sets over Rydal Water. A real treat for you and your guests to look forward to!
Outdoor Weddings
If you love the great outdoors, you can even choose to have your ceremony outside, surrounded by majestic mountains and Lakeland scenery. Additional outdoor space is available around the barn terrace and our under-cover gazebo.
An outdoor barn wedding ceremony is perfect if you plan a meal as part of your barn wedding package. Our beautiful Fairfield Ceremony room offers a stunning indoor ceremony space as an alternative backup option, just in case!

Our beautiful barn weddings are available from May – September.

Your RUSTIC BARN Wedding Breakfast
Our wedding barn is ideally sized for all small barn weddings, and we can cater for up to 24 guests.
You can choose from various layouts depending on your guest numbers. See the link below for options on table plans and venue dressing.
You can add your style and flair if you wish. However, our wedding barn is already decorated with fresh silk flowers, twinkling fairy lights, and candles.
Our delicious wedding catering is all provided in-house, with a range of options to suit everyone, from a grazing buffet of Cumbrian delights to a more formal 2 or 3-course meal.
We can cater for any food allergies and offer a great selection of allergen-free options.
We pride ourselves on only serving excellent quality, wholesome produce sourced locally and lovingly made by our kitchen team.
SMALL Barn WeddingS
Our Midweek weddings are available from 1.00 pm – 7.00 pm or 3.00 pm – 9.00 pm. This allows an hour or so post-dinner to kick back and watch the world go by whilst enjoying low-key background music from our Sonos system.
This package can be extended to a 7 hour wedding to allow more time to relax, or incorporate a hike to Rydal Caves post ceremony.
Alternatively, our Weekend All-Inclusive Weddings offers a later finish time of 11:00 pm, providing extra time for fun and dancing into the night!

WEEKEND BARN ENTERTAINMENT
We have a fabulous Sonos system built into every space, which plays your music throughout your small barn wedding day.
All playlists are created through Spotify, and we encourage you to have fun building your own individual and unique playlists.
LIVE WEDDING ENTERTAINER
A band or live acoustic singer is available to book additionally for our Saturday small barn weddings, as we offer an extended package. This allows more time for drinks, dancing and relaxing during your evening reception.
Entertainers we have had in the past include Craig Elliot, who can offer a live ceremony, post ceremony entertainment on the terrace and evening entertainment after your meal in the barn.
