At Cote How, we are able to cater for your special day in whichever style you choose; from a la carte fine dining in the beautiful 16th century house, to more informal rustic dishes in the newly renovated barn.

Karen Healy, our Executive Chef, left behind a successful career in finance, to fulfil her love of making people happy through her food. For more than seven years’ she has run Green's restaurant in nearby Grasmere as a thriving café and bistro, establishing a reputation for delicious and innovative cuisine using good quality produce, both sustainable and locally sourced.

Karen will prepare and cook your menu on site and ensure that all your dishes are tasty and enjoyable, leaving you and your guests with wonderful memories. Karen excels in providing for special diets, so if you or your guests have any specific requests, we will be able to cater for them.

Our menus are a guide to the type of food that other guests have particularly enjoyed. If there is a special dish that you would like to incorporate, please let us know and we will try our very best to accommodate you.

Essential to stave off hunger during a long day. Usually served straight after the ceremony on the terrace or in the house for upto 80 people

Served in the house up to 50 people across all three reception rooms

INFORMAL SELF SERVED 2 COURSE DINNER MENUS

Served in the barn for 40-80 people

PRIVATE FINE DINING 

This is an option for the house only in small intimate groups of up to 16 people
Each guest can pre-select their own options from the menu and the food is freshly prepared by in-house chef on the day

 HOG ROAST BUFFET MENU

Served in the barn for upto 80 people
£26.95 per person

 WEDDING CAKE CHEESES

Layers of cheese rounds stacked into tiered cakes and combined with Cumbrian Teabread and decorated to compliment your theme with flowers, fruit and ribbons. Cut your cake at the start of your evening reception then we will cut it and present it as buffet of cheeses, with home made breads, cheese biscuits, fruit and chutneys. 
£16.95 per head (serves 40 – 80)
Extend into a full Cumberland platter with the addition of cold meats (or individual hand made pies / or pates), and dessert bites.
